PACIFIC high carbon steel is often used where high hardness and/or good wear resistance is needed. This include springs, forged tools, agricultural applications, etc. The spring steel sizes are normally stocked in the 1080/1095 analysis range, while the hexagon stock is usually in the lower carbon 1070/1080 range. Heat treatment is necessary to achieve spring temper and best wear properties.
